Dreaming Through the Noise

I’m booking through this book.

Sorry, couldn’t resist. (g)

I’m also tossing around another idea for a short sci-fi /horror piece. I was awakened by a possessed ceiling fan last night and then something crashed outside the window, followed by the most God-awful cat screeching you could imagine. A vicious mini war commenced in my back yard, so of course I was awake long into the night and the mind turned to the dark side.

Since I was spooked. Really. You should hear this fan.

I also preordered a copy of Grim Trixter. Click on the banner for details. She has some excellent reviews so I’ll let you know if it’s too scary. I am slighty worried…

And because there are places I couldn’t go without a myspace account, I caved. Spent yesterday making this www.myspace.com/thewritesnark

If you hang a minute, you’ll hear most excellent music. I’ve already lined up several bands I’ll showcase on that site. But tell me what you think of the site? Someone commented that I look penitent, yet not sorry in my pic.

I’ve been listening to really dark music since the stuff I’ve been working on is well, dark. (How many times will she use that word? Does the lady own a thesaurus? Can she spell thesaurus?) I’ve run through Korn, Disturbed and some Massive Attack. Even listened to a little Attrition, then some Midnight Syndicate… Yeah, I’ve been in a strange mood. So?

Then tonight I received a fan email. No, not a fan of me… how would that be possible? heh heh

I join different mailing lists for musicians so I can keep up with new CDs, concerts, etc… One such lady I heard years ago. Bought the CD after hearing the one song at the end of this post. It’s an excellent CD which was followed by another good one.
This is Vienna Teng. (Click on her pic to go to her site.) A singer-songwriter I expect will only improve as time goes by. The song I’m sharing was off her first CD and she was a baby when she wrote this! There’s another song called Between on that CD that breaks my heart.

But the email was about the new CD coming. Looks good.

I wish I could have dreamed through the noise last night…

Don’t forget that you can write something for the Scene From a Pic up until I post which is another week. Here’s the pic again.

See the last post if you have no earthly idea what I’m talking about.

First, I must say you look remarkably stunning for a 99 year old woman.

When I heard the intro to the music up on your myspace site, I thought you might have been recording that noisy fan. My mistake:-)

  2. July 20, 2006

Thanks. People say I look young for my age.

Hey now. I like that music. But recording the fan is an idea I must mull over.

I tried opening a myspace account when Gena opened hers.

I think you have to have a degree of intelligence that I’m obviously lacking to put together a myspace page.

Hey Rinda, thanks for the free publicity!

  5. July 21, 2006

Rinda, your space looks mahvelous dahling.

Heather, You don’t have to have a degree, just an adolescent in the house!

  6. July 21, 2006

Your muse has a decidedly wicked sense of humor, appearing to you in the guise of a possessed ceiling fan }:)

  7. July 21, 2006

This post has been removed by a blog administrator.

  8. July 21, 2006

You got all that from a dirty sidewalk?

Whoa. I’ll have to remember yours is in this post when I go to put these up.

  9. July 21, 2006

    Thank you Rinda

I don’t write paranormal or what ever it is.

    But it was fun.

And your words seem to me high praise.
