My debut young adult novel is out in 19 days! Review copies have gone out and I’m doing what I can to try and not look for the reviews. Okay, I’m failing miserably at that. LOL! It’s instinctive–this need to see what others think of a story you’ve told. The original storytellers shared in front of audiences for a reason. But I’m also still working to build a thicker skin on these things, so it’s good that I have another deadline to focus on. Must work on that.
How about some fun facts about the Sisters of Fate trilogy while you wait for release day?
FORETOLD was originally called Wyrd, The Turning and the trilogy was The Wyrd Sisters. Yeah, yeah, I don’t know what I was thinking there. It had to do with the Norns and the meanings behind their powers of fate.
This image helped inspire Raven. It also inspired an important scene in the book. I want this on a poster!
There is a band in the dedication of FORETOLD because of this song. Elsiane’s Across the Stream.

The apocalyptic danger increases with each book. Hint… FORETOLD isn’ t the last you see of Raven and Vanir.
Taylor Kitsch in his Friday Night Lights days inspired my Vanir. (Nice pic, eh?)
FORETOLD originally started in a diner. Raven was eating a veggie dog when the end of the world began.
Coral, the heroine in book two, was originally named Willow when I first brainstormed the trilogy. My CP is Rachel Vincent and when I first told her about Willow and Taran, we both started cracking up. I hadn’t done that intentionally. (Okay, you gotta be a Buffy fan to realized why we laughed!)
Taran, the hero in FORECAST, is a bit of a handful. (Thor is the thunder god…)
Kat in FORESWORN is too. Because she’s just Kat.
Taran and Coral’s song is sooo different. Beautiful Mine by The Butterfly Effect. (Two songs off this CD are on FORECAST’s soundtrack.

I’m not Norse–not that I know because there are a lot of nationalities in my ancestry–but my name is. Rinda means giant. In Norse mythology, she was married to Odin and didn’t like him all that much. 😉
That’s all for now, but I’ll do these again.
