Such Romantics

The husband surprised us with an evening at the lake. We picked up dinner then desperately tried to hold onto it and eat as the wind tried to ruin everything. This is a beautiful lake in OKC. No swimming, but it’s fun to go out in the evening and watch the sailboats. There are wide paths around the lake for bikers, skaters, walkers and runners– nothing motorized. Excellent restaurants jut out over the lake with with huge windows so you can eat and enjoy the boaters. Some have tables outside but there is that wind issue. It is Oklahoma!

So my daughter takes this wonderful pic of my husband and myself.

And being the romantics we are, we posed for the next one.

    You guys are adorable!

  2. June 26, 2006

Ha! Now pic #2 looks more like the snarky girl I know. Love them both, dearie. I too am a romantic at heart. I ate my last husband by the softest candlelight…

  3. June 27, 2006

OMG — you two slay me! I ADORE the first one, darlin’!!! And the second one…well, it’s just totally you two *g*.

  4. June 27, 2006

    I’m jealous.

The pictures are great, and your daughter is too cool. 😉

  5. June 27, 2006

What a beautiful spot to repose with those you love.

(I have been enjoying your blog, and I hope you don’t mind if I add you to my list of favorites.)

So judging from the cups, you guys had stuff from Sonic for dinner. *g*

  7. June 27, 2006

Yes. Sonic. I actually had one of those breakfast toasters, cheddar bites and a big cherry limeade. Healthy wasn’t an option last night.

I don’t mind at all, Belleza. Have you really been to all the places on your blog? I may be jealous myself here. And love the quote. If you travel back through my blog a bit, you’ll see I wrote a piece about Emerson called Me and Emerson. I’m a fan.

All, I have some of the best pics of my kids, including beautiful ones I took of my daughter and videos of my son crashing (fake, of course) on his scooter down this hill toward to rocks. My daughter is wearing my “I only put bad vampires into the sun” t-shirt. She’s going through a huge MJ Davidson phase. I never put pics of my children on the blog, tho.

  8. June 27, 2006

Ahhh, how sweet. Tell your hubby he did good. Your daughter, too.

  9. June 27, 2006

Pinkie, you made my day. LOL!

  10. June 27, 2006

    Route 66 Sonic Vanilla Coke.

The main reason I want to move home. *wg*

  11. June 27, 2006

Oh, and I just ordered my first WS shirt.

    It’s pink.

    Big surprise, huh?

Rinda, have you ever been on a Windjammer Cruise? That seems like a perfect vacation for you and the hubby. I have always found the idea romantic, but my two seafaring encounters of any length left me seriously burned and seasick. Plus, everyone in the Windjammer brochure looks so tan and fit, that I would feel like the pig at the luau. 😉

  13. June 27, 2006

Kelli! Stop that right now! You nut. I have no idea what a Windjammer Cruise is but it sounds too painful to me.

Heather, hope you like it! I started this store because I like to wear these and thought I’d share. I spend waaaayyy more money than I make, but it’s fun to make them. (g)

  14. June 30, 2006

That’s what he wanted to do for Father’s Day? Neat.

  15. June 30, 2006

No, this was just a regular Monday. I’ve been working hard and the kids get cooped up with me working, so he grabbed us all up and took us to watch sailboats. He’s pretty great for stuff like that. And other stuff.

You missed my Father’s Day fiasco and that’s a good thing. My family got to me that day.

  16. June 30, 2006

Oh yeah… and the grass fire.

  17. July 4, 2006

Great pictures!!! (yes, I’m fully back!)
