I do apologize for my absence lately. I am immersed in Fictionland and am only coming up for air when I have to do Mom stuff. I even sat in my car for the two hours of karate yesterday and wrote frantically in a notebook. My poor kids. I had an idea during dinner and forgot to make side vegetable dishes, so I put bowls of grapes, cherries and pineapple on the table with spaghetti. Yeah, weird meal, but they were pretty happy. Then, this morning, my son asked for oatmeal and I was working on a scene and said, “Give me five minutes.”
Yes, I took longer than five. Bad Mom!
I even moved my laptop into the kitchen and put on earphones so I can work near the laundry room and try to plow through the wall of dirty clothes. The sad thing is, I’ll be so focused, I’ll work right through the buzzers and blink into the light after several hours only to have to rewash the things!!
So, since the mind is busy, I’ll share with you some of my Desktops. I used to take my favorite quotes and create backgrounds for them and put them up as inspiration on the computer. Right now, the pics from last week’s lake jaunt are front and center, but in the past I’ve had these…
This one is a quote from one of my characters. I made it as a reminder to write him dark. Really dark.
And this last one is an email I received from a writer friend several years ago. She’s a hard one to please– which isn’t a complaint in the least– she makes you claw deep until you pull out the very best you can do. This email obviously meant a lot to me.
Hope everyone had an excellent holiday!
Remember, you can post responses from the last Scene from a Pic for the next week. A couple of people took me up on the email option, so you’ll have some really creative, new scenes to read!
