I simply can’t stop listening to this CD by Damien Rice. The CD is 9. I bought it for the first song called 9 Crimes that features a stunning duet between Lisa Hannigan and Damien Rice. Reviewers have said his debut CD is even better, so that’s on my to-be-purchased list. But this one has a comforting folksy feel– be warned, the frank language gives it explicit lyric labels–for just about every song. So far, I only think a few of the songs deserved the label, but what do I know?
Thought I’d share one that made me repeat it a few times after the very first listen. Oh, and give it a chance through the quiet times because the best part of the song is yet to come. Elephant. (I’m hoping this link is not one of the stealing bandwidth ones– I don’t think it is because the actual site doesn’t pull up… but the song works. Go figure.) As far as I can tell, the only reason they could label Elephant explicit is because of the word, horny.
When did that become a “bad” word?
To go with the song, I’ve picked a couple of stark images from up and coming photographers I plan to follow.
The photographer is Makuse. There is an image on this site called The Beach I’d like to see make it into the print section. 🙂 Only 22 years-old and look at this.
Wonderful 19 YEAR-OLD photographer, Dorota Pawilowska. There are some artistic nudes on her site, but I don’t think you can see them unless you’re signed in as a member. Her other photographs can be viewed– she’s good. 🙂
