Weekend Art is all about wallpaper! I like to change the background on my monitor once in a while. Keeps things fresh. Sometimes, I find pictures that inspire me to write–always a plus. I have several good sites for these, so I’ll share on upcoming weekends.
Here are a couple from Visual Paradox. There are some cool mousepads I’m thinking about picking up there, too.
This one makes me want to create a story. What kind of creature would need this sort of staircase? (click to get a larger, clearer version–manipulating them to fit made them slightly grainy.)
This one is just cool.
Weekend Music is the Vitamin String Quartet. My daughter and I only recently discovered them! Check this website out–they do string quartet versions of soooo many artists. I mean, how often can you hear a classical version of say Tool or Disturbed or Gwen Stefani??? Even Enya? There are many pages dedicated to their work. Also lots and lots of clips–have fun! So far, my daughter and I have purchased their version of Thrice and Lacuna Coil.
The last time I purchased a classical music style version of a rock album it was this one.
If you wonder how much money I blow on books and music, well, I’m not telling. <g> But, I will share that one of my favorite sites is www.emusic.com. This is a legitimate site for purchasing digital CDs. I pay 19.99 a month and get 75 downloads, so I can either download around seven or eight CDs or even purchase individual songs if I prefer. Tons of Vitamin String Quartet CDs on that site, too!
This isn’t a site where you’ll find all the mainstream popular artists, though you will find some. I’ve discovered more great independent bands there!
Last, but certainly not least, I’d like to welcome my new niece to the world. Hello Hannah!!!!! I already love you so much! (Remember, I’m the favorite aunt–no matter what the other one says…)
