But Rinda is sliding past…
Okay, this cold knocked me on my ass. And not in a “good-sitting-on-my-ass-writing” kind of way. No, I’ve been flat.
I’m finally up and around today, but I end up hacking like crazy if I move around too much. Coughing is supposed to be good–moves stuff around, but man, it hurts. My chest is sore and every cough threatens to explode the noggin.
My sister-in-law unexpectedly lost her father on Sunday and the funeral is today. I feel terrible that I can’t go, but not only do I not want to spread the cold, I would hack and choke through the whole thing. They don’t need that. I called my brother yesterday. His 29th birthday was yesterday too. He jokingly said he only has one good year left. As if thirty is the end! From what my friends tell me, the forties are the best years. He has something to look forward to!
So, to help the healing process along, the hubby started up his fresh fruit, berry and juice smoothies last night. I’m sure they’re a gazillion calories–especially with the bananas– but we drank these constantly last winter and never got sick.
I’m rambling when all you guys are interested in is the Fast Draft. <g>
Yes, I’ll admit I’m behind. I still have what, 13 days, counting today. 34753 words to make my goal. That’s a little over 2500 words a day. Doable. To be honest, I’d be happy with a 50,000 first draft goal in a month. I always flesh out details in the second draft. Plus, in getting to know my characters, I have a lot of places to go back and add in character-rich scenes. That’s around 2000 words a day. Either way, this has been a good experience for me and I’ll have a workable first draft. 😉
