I’ve been a fan of Apex from the beginning. Those who have followed the blog are aware of my love–and several of you have entered the raffles in the past. (I just won TWO Jack Ketchum ARCs and could not be more thrilled!)
But they’re a small press and the economy is hitting them hard. Thing is, not only did I bond with the owner Jason Sizemore when we both published in the same magazine (And held each other’s virtual hands through an icky review…okay, two.) but he’s remained someone I keep in touch with–he was one of the first to congratulate me on signing with an agent earlier this year.
I have never been disappointed in any purchase I’ve made from what is now Apex Book Company. They represent some damned good writers. (I’m still waiting for one of my favorite writers there to take off–I have no doubt she will. Jennifer Pelland can write and I’d love to see her sign with an agent!)
Let’s face it, I’m a twisted puppy who loves my science fiction with a splash of horror. Why I don’t write more in that genre is beyond me–but I have a feeling that will change.
Apex Book Company is having a campaign to raise the cash needed to get through a rough sales period. Here’s the skinny. http://apexdigest.livejournal.com/

Feel like helping save a small press and getting some wickedly good, horrific science fiction in the process? Do me a favor and check em out. And if you want some fantastic, thought-provoking fiction with a dark edge, get a copy of Pelland’s Unwelcome Bodies. 😉
