Not only is Devon Monk the writer who originally invited me to join the Deadline Dames, she’s also one of my favorite authors. I LOVED Magic to the Bone. Absolutely loved it. The world Monk has built is incredibly fascinating, the characters draw you right in and the price paid for the use of magic has such devastating consequences. I was looking forward to book one for months before it came out because my critique partner, Rachel Vincent, had read an early copy and went nuts over it. I devoured it pretty fast myself.
So now, you can imagine how much I’ve looked forward to this. (Ordering my copy today since release week is so important to an author!)
It’s here!!!! (Click on the cover to zoom to Barnes and Noble to check it out.)
Working as a Hound—tracing illegal spells back to their casters—has taken its toll on Allison Beckstrom. But even though magic has given her migraines and stolen her recent memory, Allie isn’t about to quit. Then the police’s magic enforcement division asks her to consult on a missing persons case. But what seems to be a straightforward job turns out to be anything but, as Allie finds herself drawn into the underworld of criminals, ghosts, and blood magic.
