This is your brain on tired.
I’ve been veggin’. I should have finished up a project over the weekend, but I took some time off and hung with my kids, mowed and did other home-type things. Kind of watched a movie with the hubby last night. (I say kind of because I had a blanket over my face through most of it. The latest Rambo took the wonders of modern special effects too far.)
So, I shouldn’t be tired. I shouldn’t have veggie brain and instead should be diving into the WIP today. It’s a little after nine in the morning and I’ve already cleaned my house and set up the day for some serious writing. But, I sat down and the mind just wandered off.
Maybe I should have found a picture of a nomad brain.
These are the days when it’s tough to be a writer. When your mind wants to focus on the “what ifs” of this business. When you’re restless and need to burn off the excess energy with physical movements.
But I will spark up this brain of mine and get some real work done. All it takes is getting in the flow. That only happens when you dig in and make it happen.
What? You thought writing was different from anything else in life? Not at all. Want something to happen, you have to make it happen. So, I’m off to dig in.
