Been working! Head over to The Deadline Dames and read Rachel Vincent’s post on what a deadline looks like. I set aside unpacking and um, moving stuff around too many times, to critique. Her deadline is tomorrow and yeah, I had suggestions. So, she called and we hashed out what would work.
We got to talking plot, I got distracted, told her a chenille throw had exploded in my washing machine. Still distracted, I. Put. It. In. The. Dryer. (Brain cells on high, I tell ya.)
I’m surprised there is still blanket left. When I opened the door to the dryer, this stuff went EVERYWHERE. I have to wait for the stuff in the washer to dry to vacuum it out because it infiltrated all those tiny holes!!!
Sometimes, I’m amazed I survive the day when I’m working. Whether it’s on my own books or Rachel’s, I get excited talking plot. So, what else have I done while talking plot on the phone?
I’ve splattered bleach on new jeans.
I’ve forgotten food in the oven.
I’ve forgotten to turn off oven. (Okay, I do this one a lot. 🙁 )
I’ve driven the wrong way. (Um, as my friend CJ can tell you, this isn’t that abnormal either. )
Okay, come to think of it… maybe it’s surprising I survive most days. <g>
Writing excites me. I love nothing more than diving into the hows and whys of a story. Love the whole process of writing. It’s a lot more fun than the submission part, though that starts out exciting. For someone who could use a little more patience this part can be tough some days. This part that is out of my hands.
So, how to deal?
Go back to the fun part. The creation. Oh yeah, baby.
