So, that foot thing? I’m an idiot. It wasn’t just the box/footrest. I also had my chair too high and apparently, I flex on my toes and lock my feet when I’m concentrating. This causes tendon issues which can be unbelievably painful. So… I had a fun weekend propping up my angry feet whenever I wasn’t at a family function or friends function and I had three of those.
But I’m thrilled with the amount of work I got done last week. I always feel I KNOW a book when I dive into it so deeply. It’s how I’d like to write most of my books, but the mind, the body and the family need the breaks. So, with me um, messing up my feet SITTING, the hubby and I decided I’ll have to set up a timer. I just zone out too much–forget to drink water… It sounds crazy, I know, but once I give over to a story whether I’m writing it or reading it, I disappear. (It’s why the amount of books I wrote a year slowed when the kids were younger. My son was curious and silent. That can be a scary combination.)
So, though I’m not giving out more details, as you’ve probably guessed, that work is out on sub now. To take my mind off it, I’m diving into Unnatural Selection. The snippet on the page above under dystopian YA has been getting a ton of traffic. It thrills me to know readers like it so far!!!
Also, a fantastic writer, TL Schaefer, was our Dame for a Day on Saturday and she’s offering a $25 dollar gift certificate and a print copy of one of her books. I’ll be announcing that winner on Sunday. I meant it about Behind Blue Eyes. The book is exciting and has such a cool premise! Check it out!
