Last night, my sister brought over Underword, Evolution and this.
We drank Vampire wine. Really.
Pinot Noir, to be exact. It wasn’t bad, either. Jana raved about the Pinot Grigio, so I found a place to order some. She found the wine in Alabama on a trip last week, but hasn’t found it here. Not expensive either. Vampire.com: Drink Here’s the site with an explanation of the Pinot. Vampire Vineyards: The Wine But I was intrigued by the Vampire Wine club. You get a bottle of wine, a recipe, a vampire movie and a wine gargoyle… every month. Check it out. Vampire.com: Club – Taste the Vine There are three options to the club.
My beautiful sister — see? She is!
She has this thing for vampires. Even collects these little animated dolls…
Anyway, the wine was tasty. We made fajitas– I know, it doesn’t go with the theme but we make really, really good fajitas. As for the movie…
Small spoiler!
Not too bad. Flashy. Good special effects. But something was off. I don’t know if it’s Kate Beckinsale or Scott Speedman, but there seems to be a lack of chemistry between the two. It may be her because there was a lack of chemistry between her character and Hugh Jackman’s in Van Helsing, too.
But the love scene! OMG. Puppet-like, too heavily orchestrated and it looked like Speedman was in pain or something! And this is crude, but do you know that old joke about blondes with bruised belly buttons?? We ended up making belly button jokes the rest of the movie. And no, it wasn’t the vampire wine. We only shared one bottle before moving to coffee.
I do like the story line and the way they set up the origins of vampires and werewolves, but something was off. I enjoyed the first movie more. Who knows… maybe it was the wine. (g)
But the best part were the belly button jokes. We are both smart asses– big time. In fact, all three of my sisters and my brother are. But look, we get it naturally.
Our mother– who is gonna kill me for this. Love ya, mom!
