5000 words this weekend! And they’re good words! Okay, some of it is pretty rough, but that’s the beauty of a shitty first draft. (Check out Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott for details.) Got most of the plot worked out, so a rewrite on the synop shouldn’t take long. Unfortunately, some of the writing is out of order–something I don’t normally let myself do. But, when put together, about a third of book one is done.
This trilogy is going to be a little different than my other urban fantasy series. DOTT and BOAA are in first person told entirely from my heroine’s sometimes snarky viewpoint. I love that one and plan to write as many as I can in it. I’m looking forward to DOTT finding a home so I can dive into BOAA!
But until then, this YA urban fantasy trilogy has swung from difficult to very, very fun. It’s full of Norse mythology so you know I’m loving that. These have a bit more romance in each one, too.
Man, I love writing weekends.
Oh, I will soon have a wonderful announcement. No, not a sale yet, but I’ve been invited to be a part of cool cross promotional thing with some fantastic authors. I’m pretty excited about it. Wait until you see who I’ll be working with! Details to come when we have all the kinks worked out. 😉
