And for something completely different:
My daughter and I LOVE this movie. The music is wonderful. We went through so many emotions–from tears, to laughter to just a genuinely feel-good sort of “this is what life is about” mood. I’ll warn you, I cried pretty hard near the beginning. Yes, it’s a romance, but it touches on real life issues like grief and unexpected life changes. And the food! I want. All. The. Food.
I may have to set a new goal. Earn enough money writing to hire a chef. Of course, the hubby said he would take over should that become the norm here. I dunno. He watches the Food Network, but whenever “Chef Roberre” works his magic in the kitchen, it usually involves some sort of hot dog or hamburger.
Except he has one very, very special family dish. It’s the most amazing spaghetti sauce in the world. It takes all day and has ground beef, Italian sausage and bone-in pork chops. He gets up early, cooks everything, even the veggies and lets this simmer more than ten hours. He won’t share everything in the recipe, but at the end of the day, he fishes out the bones and serves something that causes everyone to make weird moaning noises, overeat, then sit really, really still until we can move again.
Wow. I’m really hungry.
As for my writing progress??? Karen Mahoney has jumped on the FAST DRAFT train with me. I’m excited because as everyone knows, a work-out buddy is a good, good thing. Gets you off your ass–or on it, in our case. <g>
We’re going to let each other know daily if we met goals. Simple, yet it works. We’re officially starting in September, but I got an early start. So…
