Been a little under the weather. Enough to keep me from running around too much, but not enough to keep me from writing. Since I’m still waiting to hear on the projects I have out, I worked a little on each of them actually. And… I worked on a project for my buddy, Heather Harper. I owe her big time. She gave me a writing topic last year. LAST YEAR. Granted, it’s one of the craziest ones readers of this blog have offered <g>, but still, this has taken me too long. I confess, while I was finishing the first in my UF series and putting together the Norse YA trilogy, the blog story slipped my mind. Eek!
But once I remembered the challenge, I started several different short stories. Didn’t like any of them. In fact, the more I worked on this story, the more it kept fleshing out, growing… until I felt it had to be a book. Problem is, the “tiny bit” of ridiculousness to the writing topic has been a real challenge. But I figured it out finally. Possible novella. It’s too long for a short story–but a book will still take me too long since I have others that need to be finished first. And I’ve made her wait a long time. 😉
The cool thing is this story went sort of post-apocalyptic, industrial grunge science fiction. In other words, futuristic and dark as hell. Oh yeah, baby. Now I’m excited about it, too! (Remember my post on So Many Ideas? )
So, in addition to working on the YA project I have with my agent and doing critiques for my CP, Rachel Vincent, I fiddled with this story a bit over the weekend. I haven’t decided what to do with it yet. It’s still in very rough form, but it will either have to be a real story I submit, or I’ll have to do a serialized posting of chapters here–which could be a lot of fun.
Either way, it’s still going to be a little while. This is what I work on when not writing on the projects already out. The first in the YA project is about 3/4 done now and I’m just DYING to jump back into BOAA. Beri, my heroine, is demanding serious brain time. She’ll kick my ass if I make her wait too long. 🙂

And… I really HATE to do this, but I’ve not heard from Brittnie about the Pride ARC. In the future, I’m going to ask for contact info in the comments to save time. So, on Tuesday, if I haven’t heard from her, I’ll be drawing another winner. 😉
